Pavel Aleksandrovich Shpringfeld (1912 - 1971, 59 years old) - Soviet theater and film actor, Honored Artist of the RSFSR. Graduated from the Moscow Theater Institute. Simultaneously with his studies, he participated in performances of the Lensovet Theater and the Vakhtangov Theater. Since 1940 - actor of the Soyuzdetfilm film studio. Later he was accepted to the staff of the theater-studio of film actors, where he worked until the end of his life. He starred in the films: "Hearts of Four", "Twins", "The Army of the Wagtail", "The Hyperboloid of Engineer Garin", "Lermontov", "Ships Storm the Bastions", "Silence", "The Hussar Ballad", "The City of Masters", "The Package", "The Cook", "The Master of the Taiga", "The Run" and others. In the 1950s, he was arrested on a false denunciation and sent to a camp, but actress Valentina Serova, with the help of her influential husband Konstantin Simonov, managed to secure her friend's release and temporarily settled him in her Moscow apartment. Pavel Aleksandrovich remembered all his life what Serova did for him, and tried in every way to help her during the times when she was not in demand in the theater and cinema. He was married to actress Klavdia Khabarova (1927-2014). The actor died at the age of 59 from heart failure, never having seen his last work - the role of a cloakroom attendant - a criminal in the film "Gentlemen of Fortune", which was released in December of the same year. He is buried at the Vagankovskoye Cemetery in Moscow.
