ALCOHOL STOVE FAIL - SOMETIMES THINGS JUST DON'T WORK

I attempted making my first diy alcohol stove. A very simple version made out of just a little can with wholes drilled into it. I have seen this work before but for some reason it did not work in my case. I modified it several times and eventually did burn but not in the way it was supposed to.
I do not know why this stove failed therefore I am going to build a more sophisticated version in the future.
