I wish you all a happy new year from the bottom of my heart, which, it seems, will be a very active year in terms of Systema training.
Vladimir alone will attend seminars in Europe three times this year:
On the 25th/26th May 2024 in Amsterdam under the theme “Fight to heal”
On the 21st/22nd September 2024 with us in Bonn/Germany with the topic “Knife and short work”
On the 28th/29th September 2024 in Lilleshall/England with the topic “Movement Masterclass”
There will certainly be other events that have not yet been precisely determined. So get ready for a packed “Systema year”.
In keeping with the topic of Vladimir's seminar here in Bonn, today I would like to present you a video from Mikhail from 2006, in which he deals with the basics of working against a knife or, better yet, against an attacker armed with a knife.

What is particularly noteworthy in this context is:
The moment when Mikhail moves (at the same time as the attacker, so not a mere reaction or evasive movement)
The ease of movements
The compactness of Mikhail's body, which makes it difficult for the attacker to attack targets
The absence of any abrupt or hard movements so as not to give the attacker the opportunity to react
Mikhail's positioning which always makes it difficult for the attacker to use his knife sensibly
Complete control of the person (not just the knife arm)
So, let's start the Systema year 2024 with a masterful demonstration.
