INTENDED FOR NEW KEEPERS - If you live in a cold climate you should have some sort of Emergency Action Plan to keep your reptiles warm in the event of a power failure. Of course, if you have a backup generator that can power your enclosures and run your home's heating system then your covered. In my case, before I had the wood stove the only plan was to put the reptile in a box with air holes and then under the blankets where our body heat did the trick - that is if you are home at the time! A cherished Iguana developed an infection after an all day power failure when we were both away at work, which despite treatment he never recovered from. The wood stove came soon after.
