The Barbican: An Essay
The Barbican (London) is a highly regarded and truly remarkable example of brutalist architecture. You might think, as so much of my work reflects nature, I would not like it, but the opposite it true, its angles, asymetries and constant visual surprises delight me. As did the pizza an dear friend and I had for lunch when I last visited and took these images.
The music as an excerpt from Battle - the entire pieces is some place on this channel :) It is also somewhat 'brutalist' with it uncompromising use of offset phasers sweaping through the entire piece.
All these images are monocrhome; where there is some colour that was added in post using asymetric gamma for blue and red over the initial monocrhome image.
The pictures were taken using a Fuji XT4 and the 7Artisans 55mm f1.4 lense which is crazy sharp. No foucs stacking or other ,similar techniques were used to get deep focus, just stopping down and 'by eye' estimation of the hyper-focal distance.
