Sublimation Of Belief
I had read that this watefall in South Wales was beautiful, but nothing prepared me for initially seeing it. The colours of the first few seconds of the video are a visual metaphor for my feelings at the time. I hope the music comes some way to working with the visuals; it is based on classical music with shifting swirling subtones created using time stretching and chorus effects.
The video was shot on my Fuji XT4 at 240fps and slowed down 10:1 to 24fps. The sparkling effect on the water is an enhancement of the video to better represent how it felt to be there. It was done using a Roberts operator to detect sharp edges and adding the result back into the video (the script to do this is on my github). Other than that, the builk of the video is simply Flog to smpte2084(pq) hdr conversion and a gamma curve to bring out the contrast plus lanczos upsacling; nothing fancy.
