Coffee Cabinet based on Chinese characters #Shorts
So, I have been playing around with some designs for upcoming projects and I have been experimenting with Chinese characters and how they might be represented as pieces of furniture. I am so looking to making some of the designs I have been playing with into full sized pieces of furniture in the workshop and sharing the experience on YouTube.
This character set is the word coffee. My understanding is that it is largely a phonetic representation of the word coffee (ka are the first three characters and fei are the last two). I see this as either a buffet for a room that would be roughly 3 feet (1 meter) tall, or as a full sized wall shelving uint that would be 6 feet (2 meters) tall. I have tried to be as careful as I know how with accurately representing the Chinese characters, including trying to represent the stroke order in the setback of different surfaces.
My involvement and understanding of Chinese characters is fairly limited. Two of my three children have visited China. One of them hopes to return to teach English as a second language after the pandemic travel restrictions have abated.
