I return to the Elora Gorge for the third time. The first two times happened as part of a whitewater training weekend course back in June prior to the reoutfitting of my boat.

This video takes place about 10 days after my return from my latest waterwater solo canoe training at MKC. What is interesting to me is how much I reverted to bad habits in the early stages of the video. You will see me switch paddling hands, gunnel grab and has way less steering control then normal at the beginning of the video. By the end of the video most of my training is coming back and I am beginning to remember why maintaining forward momentum is so vital in whitewater.

My favorite moment in the video is towards the end when I boof over a rock!

Joining me for our first paddle together is Ivan. We actually first met at MKC back in July and discovered that we are reasonably close to each other in terms of location. This meant that we could paddle along with someone else instead of doing a solo whitewater paddle which is our usual lot. He's a very positive guy who I am looking forward to having more paddling opportunities in the future!

Unfortunately there is a section early in the video where the audio is muffled due to what I suspect was water in the microphone. I had gone fish counting (another way to say I dumped the boat) just before this part of the video and it took sometime before sound quality was again good. Sorry about this!
