Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder characterized by frequent loud snoring, interrupted breathing, and gasping for air. Sleep apnea is treated using a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine.
Newer treatment options are also emerging such as the hypoglossal nerve stimulation (HNS) and Expiratory positive airway pressure (EPAP).
Most of these treatment plans are costly and uncomfortable. Some of the solutions to keep sleep apnea under control are drinking green tea, consuming anti-inflammatory foods, and meditating. Sleep apnea can also be a side effect of medications, so it is advisable to ask your doctor for adjustments.
