Uzbin Valley has become a flashpoint in western Afghanistan, where insurgents use the rugged terrain and local networks to ambush NATO forces. After a friendly squad was pinned down near Ghorak under heavy fire, Echo team was tasked to secure the town at midday to rescue and support Bravo 2-2 and stabilize the situation.
I was the patrol leader for Echo team as E01.
