The Lord of Thunder does about 50/50 between the amount of slash attacks and crush attacks. The good news is that he does not do any pierce attacks of any kind. So that is one topic we can discard. Being able to achieve 100% defense against his lightning attacks is not possible in solo play. His lightning damage is way too high. Therefore, it is advised to attempt to defend against his physical components over the elemental.
