How to Write a Great Story | Characters
Who am I? Who are you? What is the one thing we all, all people in this world, have in common?
We’re human. But what does mean? What does it mean to be human?
I’ll leave the philosophers to tackle that question to its full extent, and instead create my own definition, a simplified one for our pursuit, writing.
We’re complex creatures that all have: wants, needs, a way of looking at the world (a perspective), a way of communicating with the world (a voice).
Here’s my goal: I want to combine these elements in interesting, thoughtful, thought-provoking, relatable, unrelatable, and dynamic ways, in order to establish a link between reader and character, thereby creating a wholly unique experience that only writing can provide. Let’s write some compelling characters.
