There is no doubt that the film Akira is a trademark in cinema history. With many other movies and tv shows copying aspects from the iconic movie, Akira is a cornerstone for movies and Japanese animation. The film is directed by and written by the manga writer himself Katsuhiro Otomo and takes place in 2019 during the aftermath of World War Three in what is now called Neo Tokyo. Japan is no longer what it used to be, with mass unemployment, corrupt politicians, and riots from the civilians. But it is Tetsuo who we follow as he is experimented by the Japanese Government, in order to make him a secret national weapon. The goal is to bring Japan back up from the dead and reinvigorate the country...
