Samantha Bengs, '22 BS, '25 MS, a graduate student in Biology at the University of Southern Maine (USM), discovered her passion for marine science through the incredible faculty connections she made. Her graduate research focuses on developing new methods for collecting environmental DNA (eDNA) to improve the study of alewife and blueback herring migrations in Maine.
