Janelle Googins '25, Chemistry major, shares that she started her college journey at the University of Southern Maine more focused on socializing than academics. However, she gradually discovered a deep passion for learning, particularly in the field of chemistry. As a QC2 lab intern, Janelle was placed at Orange Bike Brewery, a unique, gluten-free craft brewery. Here, she played a crucial role in testing and refining the brewing process. The internship also reinforced her sense of responsibility, as she was entrusted with solving real-world problems, highlighting the significant role science and technical knowledge play in the success of a startup.
