An innovative approach to scoliosis therapy was developed by physiotherapist Katharina Schroth and later popularized by her daughter Christa. Katharina Schroth was born in Germany in 1894 and suffered from idiopathic scoliosis since childhood. At that time, the disease was unsuccessfully treated with corsets, which brought only temporary relief and greatly limited movement.

Katharina Schroth developed her own breathing system and exercises for scoliosis correction. Her method is based on the idea that the body of a person with scoliosis resembles a half-deflated ball with a dent on one side. If you direct the air in a certain direction, the lungs straighten out. This has a positive effect on the spine and eliminates the deformation (the "ball" returns to its original shape).

Today, the Schroth method is widely used internationally. Its effectiveness is confirmed by the results of numerous scientific studies.
