Panis angelicus (Latin for “Bread of Angels” or “Angelic Bread”) is the penultimate stanza of the hymn “Sacris solemniis” written by Saint Thomas Aquinas for the Feast of Corpus Christi. It is part of a complete liturgy of the feast, including prayers for the Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours.

Throughout the centuries, the text has been set to music by numerous composers including André Caplet and Camille Saint-Saëns, but arguably the best-known version is the setting by César Franck.

Featuring soprano Christy Lagapa, video premiered in UPSO's online blended performance "Simula" last September 24, 2021.
