Cherry Vareniki Recipe:
☑️ For the dough:
✔️ Flour - 3 cups
✔️ Egg - 1 egg
✔️ Boiling water - 1 cup
✔️ Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
✔️ Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
☑️ For the filling:
✔️ Frozen cherries - 300g
✔️ Sugar - 4 teaspoons
✔️ Starch - 2 teaspoons
✅ Directions:
1. Sift the flour into a bowl, add the salt, and mix.
2. Make a well in the flour, crack an egg into it, and add the vegetable oil. Mix well.
3. Pour in a cup of boiling water and knead the dough. Once the dough is smooth, cover it and let it rest for 20 minutes.
4. For the filling: Mix the sugar and starch in a separate bowl and remove the cherries from the freezer just before shaping.
5. Roll out the dough, divide into circles, and place half a teaspoon of the sugar mixture in each circle. Place 2-3 cherries on top. Make the dumplings.
6. Drop the finished dumplings into boiling water and cook for 10-12 minutes.
7. Serve with sour cream. Enjoy!
