How to List Products On Amazon W/ UPC Rules and Your Options
In this video, I explain how to list items on Amazon according to their new strict rules regarding the need for UPC codes. I cover everything from loopholes, branding options, trademarking, importing, cost of UPCs, etc. In the end, Amazon has made it a total pain in the butt to list things on their site, but I do think it is still worth it. I think you really should create a brand and trademark its name and then use it to register UPC codes on the GS-1 Database. From there you can use these UPC codes to list on Amazon successfully. I am against these new stringent rules and hoops you have to jump through, but I am in favor of selling on Amazon still because it is a popular platform and you should be able to recuperate these starting costs pretty easily over time... I think that Ebay just looks all the more attractive for most items with these added hassles Amazon is now insisting on adding. I also hate that you can no longer just buy generic UPC codes from a re-seller because Amazon has now made that impossible!
