Starry Night Octopus
This starry night octopus (Callistoctopus luteus) was filmed during a night dive in shallow waters off the western coast of Samal Island, Philippines. It was the biggest octopus I've seen in these parts so far, measuring roughly 3 feet (from head to arms). This nocturnal species of octopus is identifiable by the white spots across its body, and especially by those red-hued eyes.
