An important statement in calculus is that the indefinite integral of 1/x dx is ln|x| + C. However, although this is used and stated everywhere, it's actually false! 😱 In this video, I explain the reason for this common math misconception in depth, going through several fundamental calculus concepts in the process. I also state the right answer for this integral, and why in spite of the wrong answer being so common, it still doesn't propagate errors in calculus problem solving (which heavily uses this integral). The video is designed for all calculus students who know the derivative of the natural logarithm and that the indefinite integral sign represents antidifferentiation - it is super accessible, clear and FUN! 🥳
