My husband and I have tried to be active as much as possible, and that still happens. However, life also brings along surprises and some of those are encased in either physical or cognitive changes, sometimes both. My encumbrances are primarily physical with rheumatoid arthritis diagnosed when I was 21. I am not 71 and for the most part I dictate a course of action, keep busy and make adjustments as needed, when needed. My husband is 83 and he is my great companion. Together we try to do a lot of things which includes camping, hiking, biking, walking trails and enjoying nature.

This year will be a bit different with the recent diagnosis of delirium, which comes and goes. It’s his diagnosis along with some milk dementia, but I also feel the changes and must make adjustments. As the weather improves we will be more active in our outings. In the meantime we are becoming more active in the fight against what nature has offered, a reduction in thinking. We will still be going camping, but perhaps not as often, and we will chronicles our life changes as seniors.

Our channel has been called “Two Seniors Camping” because that was the video way back that most people resonated with, but perhaps it was also the idea that two people gradually aging can still enjoy life, even when things change and nip at us. Stay tuned for our videos as we share how life changes, the challenges we encounter and how we manage as well as we do.
