Nearly collided with a taxi
This one was a complete mess. I initially pinned all the blame on the taxi driver (hence my swearing), but reviewing the footage made me realise there was more to the story. There are 5 things of note in the video.
1 - The taxi driver strangely positioned himself over to the left on the dashed line, leading me to believe he was turning left (which was STUPID of me because he was blatantly in the middle lane).
2 - The berk in the merc, who quite frankly didn't help the situation by hanging over the give way lines.
3 - The van driver who obscured the taxi driver's view of oncoming traffic; this was the reason he lingered around before setting off.
4 - The very poor road layout on exiting the roundabout, where the two lanes merge together almost instantly with hardly any warning.
5 - The complete imbecile driving the camera car (ME), who should have been clever enough to add up all of the above and come up with the right decision, which was to slow right down and allow the taxi driver to navigate the roundabout first.
