It’s time for a new episode of Rental Car Ergonomics!
This week: the Land Rover Defender
rented through Turo
1️⃣ This 2022 Defender was a great looking vehicle, high tech and nice leather bucket seats with plenty of electric adjustments. Wireless Apple CarPlay was great to have because my cord wasn’t working well and it was a bonus to have an additional navigation screen straight ahead next to the speedometer.
2️⃣ The headrest was ideal for me and kept my head in alignment over my shoulders. Adjustable straight up and down and no tilt as it raises.
3️⃣ There was an electric steering wheel adjustment up/down AND in/out , love that.
4️⃣ Yet another style of shifter in this car. The trigger unlock took some getting used to. I made sure to double check I was actually in D or R.
5️⃣ The digital rear view wasn’t great for me and I relied more on my side mirrors and actually looking back. Trying to look back and see anything out the back was a struggle because of the head rests in the back seat that could probably be removed or flipped down, but I didn’t check.
The Land Rover Defender gets a 5/5 ⭐️
