This was such an amazing conversation!
Lauren Schieffer started us off by choosing one million people a year for a thousand years – citing the ripple effect in her reasoning. Later in the conversation she wondered if she might change her mind.
Kevin Wash admitted that he started on one side, switched and then came back to his original thinking of a billion people in one year.
I’m not sure Paul Wilson actually stated which choice he would make. But he did wonder if we have a thousand years left as humans on this planet (that isn’t something I thought about).
I might be viewing this a bit selfishly. I want to SEE the impact I have made. I don’t care so much if people remember my name a thousand years from now. So for me, give me the billion this year! (If you know the children with marshmallows study, I might have failed that as a child.)
This really is a great conversation. Don’t just read my summary this time. The conversation is worth listening to.
What about you? A billion in one year or a 1000 for the next million years? I am excited to see your answers in the comments!
