Five questions for Claudia Aboaf
Claudia Aboaf was born in Buenos Aires and currently lives in Tigre, Argentina. She is a writer and lecturer at the National University of the Arts, where she has taught seminars on Science Fiction, Ecofiction, and Climate Science Fiction. She is the author of the novels Medio grado de libertad (2003), Pichonas (2014), El Rey del Agua (Alfaguara, 2016), and El ojo y la flor (Alfaguara, 2019). She has contributed to anthologies of strange fiction in Colombia, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, France, and Italy. She co-wrote, with Tomás Saraceno, the screenplay for the film Vuela con Pacha, hacia el Aeroceno (2023), which premiered in London. Astrología y literatura. Diálogos cósmicos. Borges-Xul Solar, Pizarnik-S. Ocampo (Lumen, 2022) is her first experimental essay. She contributes ecofeminist and socio-environmental articles to national and international publications. Her Water Trilogy has been studied by academic literary critics at several universities around the world. She is part of the ecofeminist collective Mirá Socioambiental.
