Dr. Elise Brown discusses a morning workout vs after breakfast in diabetes, based on some of the latest diabetes and exercise research that reveals things to consider when making this decision. There have only been three research studies so far that tested exercising in a fasted state or fed state in diabetes over the course of months. Changes in risk factors to consider include HbA1c, intramuscular fat, and visceral fat. Any changes to diet or exercise should first be discussed with your doctor.
