How to install light fixtures that are secured in place by two decorative nuts or ball nuts. When you see 2 ball nuts on the light fixture, they’ll all be installed the same way.
Installation of light fixtures with two ball nuts:
1. Before you begin working with wires, make sure that the power to the electrical box is cut off at the breaker panel.
2. Attach the mounting plate to the electrical box using mounting screws.
The type of electrical box works best for installation this types of light fixture is the round kind.
3. Pull out house wires through the center hole to connect to the fixture wires.
4. Connect the bare copper wire, which is the ground wire, to the house copper wire; connect the black wire, which is the hot wire, to the black house wire; connect the 2 white wires, the neutral wires, together.
5. Stuff all the wires into the electrical box.
6. Put the canopy on, making sure the holes on the canopy go over the fixture screws so you can see the screws protruding out of the holes.
7. Screw on the 2 ball nuts to hold the light fixture.
8. The last step is putting on the glass shades. Slide on the shade through the socket and then screw on the socket ring to hold the shade in place.
