Citroen Xantia – The Ideal Balance
Today, I’m going to tell you a story about the best-handling French family car of the 90s – the Citroen Xantia produced from 1992 to 2001.
The Xantia was a more “conventional” car than its predecessor, the Citroen BX, and didn’t have so many unusual solutions, but it still did have some interesting features.
Its biggest engineering feature was its hydropneumatic suspension, which Citroen was famous for. It made the Xantia self-leveling and gave it ideal balance on the road. And in its ultimate version “Activa”, it allowed it to corner faster than many supercars.
All Xantias were comfortable rides, but the Activa, with its ability to virtually glide above the road, was something way beyond the comfort of a regular car.
The Citroen Xantia was a very fine-handling car with superior ride quality and comfort. And with its spacious interior and large, convenient trunk, it was one of the best and most satisfying European family cars of the 90s and definitely one of the most interesting.
