A new statement from Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, released through his attorney on Saturday, is making headlines around the world. In the statement, Zambada reiterates the claim he was “ambushed” and “kidnapped” by a son of notorious drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán and hand-delivered to US authorities. He also accuses Mexican officials of asking him to mediate in a dispute.
