Merging raw punk energy with danceable beats, Zookraught blew up our studio during their recent Live From Midtopia session! The Seattle-based band's explosive set included three tracks from their recently released LP 'Vida Violet.'
“Matchstick” is an awesome opener that showcases the band’s collaborative style and punchy, dynamic energy. The song’s structure includes strategic pauses, adding intensity by leaving a brief silence that entices listeners to jump into the rhythm, amplifying its dance-punk vibe. "Burn" offers a raw commentary on the destructive tendencies of modern society, emphasizing a “burn it down” mentality that mirrors the anxious urgency present in the track’s intense, hypnotic-like rhythm. Their set rounds out with the high-energy highlight "Chew Tobacco, Spit." Chaotic and infections, it's a song that's a bit like a sprint through a thunderstorm as lightning strikes nearby.
Zookraught's synergy and stage presence is on full display throughout their performance, with each member interweaving vocal and instrumental roles, creating a cohesive and dynamic sound that feels both immediate and thoughtfully layered.
