Fallout (English for radioactive fallout) is a computer role-playing game series that began in 1997 with the game Fallout, developed and published by Interplay Entertainment. The world of Fallout depicts a dark alternate scenario of Earth in the 22nd and 23rd centuries after a nuclear war devastated large parts of the world in 2077. Since April 2007, all rights to Fallout have been owned by Bethesda Softworks.[1] In April 2024, a television series of the same name, based on the computer game series, was released.

Amazon acquired the rights to produce a live-action project in 2020, and the show was announced in July, with Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy's Kilter Films of Bethesda Game Studios involved in the production. The series premiered worldwide on April 10, 2024, with eight episodes in the first season. A second season was announced.

Fallout 4 is an action role-playing game developed by the American game studio Bethesda Game Studios, set in the post-apocalyptic world of the Fallout game series. It is the fifth installment in the main series, following Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. The setting is the city and surrounding area of Boston, rendered uninhabitable by a nuclear war, which the player character explores for the first time after waking up in a fallout shelter while searching for his son. Fallout 4 was released worldwide on November 10, 2015, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, except in Japan, where it was released on December 17, 2015. The game shipped nearly 12 million copies on its launch day.[1] A PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S version was released on April 25, 2024.
