Populations and Samples in Statistics
In this video, we discuss populations and samples in statistics.
Population is the whole group of things or individuals you want to study. A sample is a part of the population being studied. Many populations are so large, it will take too long to survey everyone and it may also be too expensive.
A representative sample is one that has a general characteristics of the majority of individuals or items in the population. When gathering a representative sample, at least one or two individuals from each group in the population should be represented.
