How to practice speaking French by yourself. If you're struggling to improve your French speaking skills, you're not alone. Not only can it be difficult to take everything you've learned and create your own coherent sentences, but also--if you're anything like the rest of us--you may be nervous to speak French for reasons that have NOTHING to do with the actual language (say hello to stage fright, social anxiety, and imposter syndrome).
So yeah, speaking French can be really hard.
And while I've already made a video on how to manage the psychological barriers that factor into speaking a language (link below), this video focuses on actual exercises that you can use to speak French by yourself.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think these activities should replace speaking with other French speakers. But if you're still working on being able to take that language partner plunge, or if you just don't have access to other French speakers, you should still be practicing French speaking by yourself.
Yes, practicing French by yourself can seem a little strange at first. And as someone who used to wonder not only how to practice French speaking alone, but also how to improve your French speaking skills while doing so, I get the skepticism. But in an effort to practice speaking French every day, I've found several activities that have proven to be super effective.
So in this video, I share a handful of ways to practice speaking French alone in an effort to improve your skills. I hope you find them as useful as I have!
