Karen The Katanas First Flight After Certification
Karen the Kat is slightly overweight weighing in at 7.5kgs dry so being 0.5kgs over the limit she has to be certified...... certification was achieved 5 weeks ago and I decided to finish finish it off before flying it...... the cowling took 7 coats of fluro orange and I had to recover the top red section with vinyl finishing it off with some 4mm pinstriping..... Todays weather was perfect with a slight breeze coming from the left down the runway... Time to open her up and max the throttle and do some snap rolls just to ensure she can handle the Gs... this EME 70cc twin with electric start is the bees knees...... and she's dialed in... no coughing or spluttering... and what a pleasure to land.... definitely the best fun fuel plane to fly....
