Robert Owens: Deep Down

Robert Owens is an American songwriter, record producer, DJ and singer, best known for his work with the Chicago house group Fingers Inc. in the mid-1980s, which members also include the Larry Heard and Ron Wilson. One of his best-known songs of the late 1980s, is the epic house anthem "Tears" produced by Satoshi Tomiie and presented by the Godfather of house music, the legendary Frankie Knuckles.
As a solo artist, he has placed several songs on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart, two of which hit number-one: "I'll Be Your Friend" (1992), and "Mine to Give" (2000, a collaboration with Photek).
DJ Romain got his big break opening up for DJ Smash (Blue Note Records) at New York’s famous after hour underground club “Save The Robots” where, shortly after he became a resident DJ. His other New York residencies included NY Palladium, Limelight Tunnel, Club Exit, Centro Fly, Sound Factor Bar. From the late 90’s DJ Romain tours Europe every summer, headlining and mixing with the likes of DJ Francois K, Joe Claussell & Danny Krivit (Body & Soul).
In 2000 Romain started a label with DJ and Producer Jon Cutler called “Metro Trax, which lead to the release of his worldwide smash hit “Philly’s Groove”. Produced in collaboration with Danny Krivit. The song received major air play on UK’s BBC Radio1 by Danny Rampling. The same year Danny Rampling invited DJ Romain to play with him at “The Cross” in London.
In 2010 the Deep Down was signed my Marlon D's record label Underground Collective Recordings, and featured remixes by Chocolate Puma, Sean McCabe, Souldynamic, DJ Smash, Yohan Esprada, DSF & DJ Dino.
The immediately went to number 1 in the Traxsource chart, and gain huge praise and recognition from international DJs and the biggest names in the industry.
