The Double Stinger Dinger was inspired by the Jeffry Dauber (a dirt dobber pattern), invented by a fly tier named Charlie Craven. Charlie has his own YouTube channel called Charlie's Fly Box, where he does a lot of excellent fly-tying-related content. I watched his tutorial on tying the Jeffry Dauber fly on a YouTube channel called In The Riffle; I recommend subscribing to both channels. I have wanted to make a wasp fly ever since seeing yellow jackets land on the water and get slammed by bass and bluegill in the Texas Hill Country. It was crazy to me that fish would go after such a painful meal but every time I saw a wasp get eaten, it never resurfaced.
