Speakers
Israel Cefrin is a Library Information Technology Specialist/Developer at the University of Waterloo, where he co-chairs the Library Accessibility Committee. With experience as a System Administrator, UX Researcher, and Digital Accessibility Specialist at PKP, he consults on OJS accessibility issues. At UW, he improves digital accessibility, conducts audits, and follows WCAG and AODA guidelines. He also reviews the WCAG 2.2 translation for Ceweb.br/W3C in São Paulo.
Mariya Maistrovskaya, a PKP Publishing Services team member, specializes in OJS, publishing best practices, scholarly communications, and copyright. She provides OJS training and troubleshooting for journal editors and contributes to PKP documentation. As the creator and former lead of PKP’s Accessibility Interest Group, she developed documentation and educational resources on accessible publishing in OJS. She has hosted webinars and community calls on accessibility in library publishing.
