A short night currency flight

Sometimes its you've just gone a little too long without flying and you've gotta squeeze a flight in where you can, even if it's at night.

I hasn't flown the Cherokee 140 in a little over a month, and it was about to go into annual for who knows how long, so I wanted to squeeze in a quick flight. My only more recent flight was in a different airplane (RV-12, video to come later 😁) and even that had been a couple of weeks.

On top of that, I was pretty much out of flying money for the month, rarely could find a time when I was within my personal sleep minimums (5 hours in last 24 hours and 11 in last 48), and just all around busy.

This is my first time flying at night since my night flight training, and my first time flying at night solo. I was hoping to get my night currency back anyway and the weather, scheduling, and kids all aligned for me to sneak out for a short flight. After that, it was like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders.

I did a full stop taxi back as my warmup just to take it easy, then a stop and go, and after that decided to alter the plan and leave the pattern for 10 minutes or so of just enjoying the night view. Then a final full stop and I ended the night with my night currency and my wallet intact.
