🌌 NEW CONTENT 🌌

A brand new skin for this already presented track that replace Silence : Arachnopolis!
New palette
New tileset for the road and background
First time: I hacked the horizon. I don't know if the result is good, don't hesitate to tell me if you like it (and if you understand what I tried to draw with my improvised no-skill of pixel artist xD)
Track name
Music: this time I tried Drum & Bass, but I wanted to cut in the middle with an hip hop / funky break. ^^ I hope you'll appreciate!

I also:
tweaked the "hat" instrument in the previous "Cloud Ocean" track (the custom track I already presented:    • F-Zero big hack = CLOUD OCEAN = Custom Tra...  ).
added a space before the "Cloud Ocean" track name as in the original F-Zero

Finally thanks to this patch you can play this new track Arachnopolis, but also Cloud Ocean. There are only these two tracks for now, so I've alternated A-B-A-B-A in the "Knight League".

🕹️ ZIP ARCHIVE & HOW TO PLAY 🕹️

The archive contain 2 files:
the patch, that modify the F-Zero ROM with all the modifications of G-One 0.5 that you can see in this video
"flips", the patcher, to apply the patch you prefer on your F-Zero ROM.

To use flips to patch the ROM, you need:
the F-Zero ROM (hearderless, so the most widespread, which is 524,288 bytes). Copy your ROM before patching it because flips will modify the ROM, without coping it first.
to follow the very simple steps of this video (thanks to the author Tomatobird8):    • How to apply or create patches using Float...

NOTICE THAT: I'm not allowed to give a link to download the F-Zero ROM, for the simple reason that it's forbidden (or this video will be deleted instantly).
On the other hand, I want to make it clear that I don't want to incite you to practice illegal emulation (although I find it a wonderful way to easily discover old and beautiful games, so it makes it easier for everyone to access art... and of course it allow hacking, that is a wonderful world of incredible artistic creations I just discovered!).
So please make sure you own the original F-Zero game before doing anything illegal.
I'm also not responsible for any problems you may encounter using the files I share.

🏁 CIRCUIT HACK 🏁

To hack the track I used Fuzee Editor (made by Puresab): https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/...
And Fuzee editor TRANSLATED by CatadorLocao (you need to put this ".exe" in the folder of the Fuzee Editor that you have downloaded just above):
https://drive.google.com/drive/folder...

Infinite thanks to:
Alejandro, for making a wonderful and funny Fuzee tutorial, without which I would have had neither the desire nor the ability to do this track that I am very proud of! :    • Fuzee Tutorial 🔰: F-Zero Course Editor (Mo...

Talented and courageous hackers have created and published tons of "fzeeclips" (parts for tracks that can be drag & drop into Fuzee to create track so easily!!!):
Alejandro's fzeeclips: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OcTK...
Tony Thai's fzeeclips (aka midiman10, the creator of the first Fuzee tutorial): https://www.dropbox.com/s/oiyx1ct0etm...

🎵 MUSIC HACK 🎵

For the integration of the music I used the same method than for my previous F-Zero SNES music hack:    • "Mario Kart 64 - Result #1 (Win)" F-Zero S...

For this music I had to modify 2 instruments of the game (using an hex editor): the first loud bass and the second slapping bass (I love it), because their original definition didn't allow to go that low in the octaves. (I advise you not to finish the championship, because the end music is broken because of this modification...)
This is why I would like to thank Catador in particular for telling me where the instrument definitions were in the game code, but also for taking the time to explain how they were defined (ADSR, etc.).

🛠️ TOOLS 🛠️

010 Editor: to hack the hexadecimal code of the F-Zero ROM
Photoshop: to draw graphic stuff
Aseprite (so cool): to draw pixel art and modify tilesets with indexed colors
YY-CHR.NET: to export/import/draw sprites of the F-Zero ROM
SNES Palette Editor: ...
Cyotek Palette Editor: to sort/edit color tables and save in many formats
Notepad++ & LibreOffice calc: to do edit some pieces of hex code
OpenMPT: to compose music (but I integrate the music by hand directly in hex, without using the conversion tools, because they are not clean)
