Receiver: Sony STR-6036 (amp: 14 Wpc 4Ω to 16Ω)
Recordplayer: AKAI AP-B21
Speakers: Wharfedale Denton 3 (3-way, 18W 6Ω)
On record: The Blues Brothers - Sweet Home Chicago - 1980, Atlantic
Testing:
-Speaker-quality; in our test on the Lenco L-380 we were a tad uncertain about the performance of these Dentons. After this run we can conclude they're not perfect, but good enough for their price-range. All the drivers hit the notes (still) quite clear, but (!) when all drivers are adressed at once the high notes underperform just a little. Nothing to be worried about (in our humble opinion)
-Stability recordplayer; Just serviced and testing for stability and sound. Well, no problems there anymore. Only (minor) detail are the dustcover hinges. Still looking for new ones or a good way to repair them.
-General amp-performance: This receiver has been wandering in our storage for some time now (after having had some tech maintenance). Good testing machine, but not stable enough for sales. Thus time to put it to the test and see what's going on with this (still very nice) receiver. Well, after running it on FM and phono our first and foremost concerns are the knobs. We think they need a good clean-up. The output-channels respond just a little of after changing input-channels :)
