PARENTS OF ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES URGED TO REGISTER THEM AS VOTERS
Parents of children with disabilities who have reached the age of acquiring national identity cards havebeen advised to ensure they register as voters to exercise their democratic right in next year’s generalelection.Speaking in Malindi, activists noted that certain myths and traditions within the Mijikenda community atthe Coast lead some parents to deny their children their rights by hiding or neglecting them.The officials were speaking during an exercise aimed at registering Persons with disabilities and thegeneral community for national identity cards.
