A behind-the-scenes look at the recording for the Scuttle_Sam Music Video I directed.

📼 The foundation of this Music/Lyric video is footage of the artist singing and performing in my house before I distorted it into a chaotic VHS static-filled existence.

🎥 Before this shoot, I did tests of myself performing to the camera to understand what kind of setup I would need to achieve the effect I was going for. Thankfully, it wasn't much!

🎞️ I recorded a timelapse which shows the minimalist setup I used on the day:
▶️ a black sheet backdrop (blocking access to the kitchen)
▶️ a single lamp (positioned on a cat tree)
▶️ and my phone to capture the footage (with me on my knees)

📺 The footage looked great! I chose the best bits and threw them into After Effects to do some distortion magic which I animated to the instrumentation.
