Types of induction motor/Split phase induction motor/Shaded pole motor
Single phase induction motors are not self starting.
It is necessary to produce a rotating field to produce the starting torque. Depending on the method adopted to start the motor,
there are different types of single phase induction motor.
1. Split phase induction motor
2. Shaded pole type
3. reluctance start motor
In split phase motor, there are different types
resistance start motor,capacitor start motor, capacitor start and capacitor run motor, permanent split capacitor motor.
Shaded pole motors are used in low power applications like toys, table fan,hair dryer
