BIM In Nepal Conference 2019 - Surya Raj Acharya
Nepal BIM Forum and Global construction technology leader Trimble hosted Nepal’s first-ever Building Information Modeling (BIM) conference for the country’s fast-growing construction industry. Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUBDC) is supporting, the ‘Nepal BIM Conference 2019’ initiative focusing on necessary digital BIM tools and processes to drive the digital transformation of the Nepalese construction industry. Senior representatives from different governmental organizations, contractors and consulting firms as well as architects, engineers and designers attended the event.
In the following video, Surya Raj Acharya put forward his view regarding the need for BIM adoption in Nepalese AEC industry. Dr Surya Raj Acharya is a freelance expert on infrastructure policy, planning and management. Since 2013, Dr Acharya is teaching MSc courses at Institute of Engineering, Pulchock Campus as a Visiting Faculty. Until 2013, he worked as a Senior Research Fellow at ITPS Tokyo and was involved in undertaking research studies on topics related to transport and infrastructure development in developing countries.
