In this episode of the Sidcourse, we take a critical look at 1979 Revolution: Black Friday. A short game about the 1978 shootings that changed Iran by Ink Stories.

We take a look at the games mechanics, art, narrative and performance and discuss how "Serious Games" or "Games For Change" can improve.

This video does contain some spoilers and I highly recommend playing the game for yourself and supporting the developers of this indie title before watching the video.

The Sidcourse is a show dedicated to taking a critical look at games, developers, the industry as a whole. With new technologies making people from all walks of life capable of telling stories through games, it's important to study games as a medium and look at it as both art, education and entertainment.
