6 Copula Method
Method B, an alternative method for creating a multivariate distribution with metalogs, uses copulas with metalog marginal distributions. Metalogs are a hand-in-glove fit with any copula because, so long as random samples from the copula can be generated, corresponding random samples of the distance-direction shot pattern are calculated in closed-form. Choosing the best copula can be a hunt-and-peck process, but if one already has a trusted copula, then Method B may be best. With a good choice of copula, Methods A and B yield nearly identical results for the best aimpoint on the 4th hole at Stanford.
