20th Note Groove with Polymetric Coordination
This groove is from my book Groove Studies with the 20th Note (Available on Amazon).

It is exercise 1h in Section 4 of the book with an added 3-note grouping in the hi-hat (these would be called dotted 10th notes).

This is not polyrhythmic! It is polymetric. Everything lives in the 20th note field.

The snare is on good old 2&4
The kick is playing a 1-bar pattern.
The right hand on the ride plays groupings of four 20th notes, so 5 evenly spaced pulses are in each bar of 4/4. This is a NATIVE 4:5 polymetric expression.
The left foot plays groupings of three 20th notes, making them dotted 10th notes. This is a NON-NATIVE 3:5 polymetric expression (as defined in the DrumMantra book, The Primary Series)
