Ballerina Farm has been making waves on Tiktok before and after the recent scandal that hit her.
A bionic woman, as she was described, of Mormon origin, mother of seven children, impeccable physique, healthy diet: everything she cooks in her TikToks is sourced from her local farm, and two weeks after giving birth, she walked the runway and won Mrs. America.
The Times interviewed her, uncovering some behind-the-scenes details, including the recently popularized phenomenon of trad wives, women who embody the traditional spirit of 1950s women, wives, and mothers that has alarmed many, a countertrend to all the struggles for female emancipation.
But who are these trad wives? And what lies behind the life of Ballerina Farm?
Ballerina Farm is the TikTok account of Hannah Neeleman, a 34-year-old woman with 8 million followers, in which she shares her life on the farm where she lives with her husband and eight children.
In various TikToks, we see Hannah cooking, caring for the animals and her children, and picking the ingredients she uses directly from the farm to prepare her meals.
But what happened?
👥 I didn't do it all alone, so I'd like to thank these wonderful people for adding details to my videos:
