The Open Circuit Design tool "qflow " is considered by some to be the only real, working, completely open source verilog-to-GDS flow available today, for all its limitations and dependence on legacy software. I will describe the history of qflow, how this working tool flow has been bootstrapped from bits and pieces of open source software, and where it will be going in the (near) future.
